As I sat in class a couple of weeks ago, I was troubled with what topic I wanted to do my civic story on. Mr. Byland told us that a civic story should be a story about how the public could be effected from this. I immediately thought about the construction in Tuscaloosa. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to get onto Jack-Warner Parkway (the faster way to my apartment) because the exit is closed.
I began to shoot b-roll at all the construction sites around Tuscaloosa County. I started with construction around my friend's apartment complex and ended up in Cottondale. The construction in Cottondale is right before the exit to I20/I59.
I interviewed two of my friends who also are frustrated with the construction around Tuscaloosa.
